MODULE 01
Visual Fundamentals
The first step before getting into animation is learning visual language and how to apply it to create impactful scientific visuals.
In this first module, we break down how light, materials, depth, and form shape reality, and how to translate those principles into our canvas. We will learn how to find references and create professional moodboards to define a clear visual direction before we get into 3D.
MODULE 02
Creative Laboratory
The Creative Laboratory is where we experiment and see how the visual principles from the first module translate into Cinema 4D and Redshift.
Here, we focus on becoming confident with the software, experimenting with deformers, lights, and procedural materials in Cinema 4D, and creating our first renders in Redshift. This is a fun exercise that lets us learn quickly and practice with intention. You’ll want to keep it in your career forever!

MODULE 03
SARS-CoV-2 Breakdown
Build an accurate SARS-CoV-2 virus from scratch and create your first molecular animation in this first practice.
Learn how to download and optimize PDB structures for production and create an easy loop animation applying all the visual fundamentals that we learned before in a more complex scene. Take your first steps in After Effects to learn how to take your render to the next level while guiding the viewer’s attention with intention.
MODULE 04
Animation Fundamentals
Professional Medical Animation has its own particularities, and everything becomes easier when you get to know them.
In this module, we will break down the process to create medical animation efficiently, applying universal animation principles and choosing the right methodology for each scenario. We don't need much to make our animations look professional. Here we will discover how!
MODULE 05
Natural Killer Recognition
Animate an immune-cell interaction by applying the previous animation fundamentals inside a classic medical animation shot.
Discover a clear process to create complex molecular interactions in Cinema 4D using simple techniques that save you time while keeping everything editable in your scene. We will apply different animation methodologies to get confident with the software and create a professional shot for your portfolio.
MODULE 06
Cinematic Fundamentals
Learn the fundamentals of cinematography to create impactful, cinematic scientific shots for your portfolio.
A practical introduction to photography principles and how to apply them to medical animation, using simple, easy-to-apply rules to guide the viewer’s attention, create depth, compose impactful images, and tell clear visual stories that elevate the impact of your work.
MODULE 07
Blood Vessel Animation
Build a procedural vessel scene for your portfolio using advanced lighting and composition techniques in Cinema 4D and After Effects.
"Tunnel scenes" are a common setup in medical animation, and they come with their own challenges—from building the environment to lighting and animation, we will face this sooner or later in our careers. Understand how to build a procedural scene and use advanced lighting and composition techniques to simplify the process, stay in control, and handle this type of shot with confidence.
MODULE 08
Workflow Fundamentals
Work like a professional studio and save hours of client feedback time with a clear workflow that lets you move forward with confidence.
We break down the full workflow of a medical animation project: from how to approach any shot, to the different production stages, what to consider internally, and how to organize your files so they never slow you down. You’ll optimize your software, automate repetitive tasks, and stay focused on the creative part of the work with an industry-proven production system.
MODULE 09
Membrane Transport
Create a clean membrane-transport sequence by applying medical animation fundamentals and advanced composition techniques.
All previous concepts come together in this classic molecular shot, where we apply everything we learned in the course to keep full control of the scene, adding advanced After Effects techniques to give an extra layer of complexity that will make your shots stand out while saving you time and resources in your production.
MODULE 10
Get Ready for the Industry
Build a professional showreel using the course projects and plan your next shots to keep growing after this course.
Learn a practical framework to keep learning on your own, approach projects with confidence, and protect your creative space during real-world productions. This module closes with key industry insights, things no school teaches, and that go beyond animation itself, but often make the difference between a good and a great medical animator.
